This was when I discovered from quite a few endocrinologists that even though there is no cure for diabetes, it is actually the complications of diabetes that are worse than having diabetes itself.
Unfortunately most of these complications creep up on you, it seems.
As one reads through the various diabetic magazines, one finds very little mention of complications. Most of the ads and articles deal with food(cooking), procuring diabetic supplies (which can become very expensive, insulin pumps and glucometers.
Not as much mention is made of complications. Maybe because avoiding complications is a preventive procedure and nobody in the industry makes money out of avoidance. Money is made only out of treatment.
