 Fetal Heart Monitoring

According to “Fetal Heart Monitoring – Principles & Practices” published by the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses(AWHONN), the two most important characteristics of the Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) are variability and accelerations.

In other words, variability of the FHR is nothing other than the response of the fetal Autonomic Nervous System (FANS) and acceleration is nothing other than the variability of the FANS.

Our ANS Monitoring technology applied to the FHR will immediately yield a beat to beat display of the fetal sympathetic, parasympathetic systems and also the fetal sympathovagal balance.

Doing this to the Fetal Heart Monitor is akin to adding computer generated interpretation to the EKG printout. No longer will the doctors have to deduce the variability and the accelerations from the FHM printout. They can immediately look at it on the display at every Fetal Heart Beat.

This is an excellent application of ANS Monitoring and we are keen to develop this application with some urgency.

We would request Doctors who are interested in working with us to contact us at clinical@dyansys.com
